Email hacked (sigh) Yesterday (Friday, July 9) as I was driving home from vacation, I learned that one of my very old email accounts (polytrope at gmail dot com) had been used to send out messages to many or all of the names in that account's contacts list. I have occasionally used that account as an alternative to my normal polytrope.com address and it's possible that some Polytrope clients received that message.
If you did receive it, you probably were able to tell this for yourself, but let me assure you the message was bogus. I have not been in London recently, was not mugged.
Please trash any messages you receive from that email address (polytrope @ gmail dot com). As soon as I can get Google's help getting back into that account I will shut it down.

And my review of it is up at Macworld.com.

If you are a user of CMAssistant or Goodbooks or any other Polytrope database whose files have the ".fp7" extension, you should feel free to upgrade to FileMaker Pro 11 if you wish. The file extension hasn't changed. Should you upgrade? At this time, no Polytrope databases require FileMaker Pro 11. CMAssistant 6.5 requires FileMaker Pro 10 (or 11). Contact us if you have questions.
It's been a long time, and I've made a few design decisions that I have changed my mind about, so I had to go back to the drawing board about a couple fairly important things. But things are coming along nicely now, so stay tuned. For more info, email Polytrope Support directly.
As of March 2010. This is an incremental upgrade from 6.3 (there was no 6.4) fixing some bugs and providing a number of other small enhancements, especially in the Waste Watcher feature.
If you are already using CMAssistant 6.3, you should update the latest release of this product. Yesterday (10-15-2009), thanks to a report from a user, a serious bug in CMAssistant 6.3 was discovered and fixed. For more info, and to download the update that fixes the bug, go here.
We're doing some reorganization here. The info about recent changes to CMAssistant that used to be here on our home page is now here. A list of reasons to upgrade can be found here. And some tips for new users of CMAssistant 6.3 can be found here and here. Info about Goodbooks can be found here.
